QATAR:
Sonic Electronics has delivered a comprehensive AV solution for Qatar Development Bank’s (QDB) main auditorium. The system has been designed to support a variety of events and functions, including presentations, training sessions, webinars and executive meetings, featuring products from brands such as Audix, Biamp, Blaze, Crestron, Lumens, McLelland and Niveo.
“At Qatar Development Bank Auditorium, our goal was to create an immersive and reliable AV experience that complements the institution’s high standards,” explained Roshan George, assistant regional manager, Sonic Electronics Qatar. “By integrating world-class brands and precision engineering, we’ve delivered a future-ready solution that enhances every presentation, meeting and event.”

For sound, a Blaze Audio loudspeaker and amplifier system has been installed, featuring 10 CBL523 loudspeakers in white with an 160° x 55° beamwidth for even coverage. These are complemented in the lower frequencies by two Biamp VLF208B dual 8-inch subwoofers. Power is provided by two Blaze PowerZone Connect 4008 Amplifiers, while Blaze U-brackets were implemented to ensure optimal loudspeaker positioning. Processing is courtesy of a Biamp TesiraFORTÉ CI DSP with 12 analogue inputs and eight outputs. An Apprimo TEC-X 1000 touchpanel allows users to operate and control AV functions from a single interface.
Audix microphones have also been installed in the space, with one ADX18 gooseneck mic for podium speeches, three AP41OM2A wireless handheld systems for presenters and three AP41HT7 wireless head-worn mic systems for hands-free flexibility.

The visual system comprises Lumens’s VC-A61P 4K PTZ IP and VC-TR40 Auto-tracking cameras, complemented by the LC100 – 2TB capture vision system which enables two-channel HD recording and live streaming. Lastly, an VS-KB21 PTZ camera controller provides control over video sources.
A McLelland LRM-12FX audio mixer featuring built-in digital effects has been installed for audio source management, alongside the Crestron HD-CONV-USB-300 which enables HDMI + analogue audio inputs to be converted to USB for conference or capture systems.

For connectivity and transmission, Sonic Electronics provided a Lindy solution featuring the 70m HDBaseT extender kits which provide long-distance 4K HDMI transmission with IR and RS-232 support. Six 2m HDMI high-speed cables have been supplied for local connections, a 30m Fiber Optic USB 3.0 cable was chosen for signal integrity over distance and a USB 3.2 type A to B cable enables high-speed data connection.
Centralised power and high-speed data transmission for the IP cameras, touchpanels and networked AV components is courtesy of the Niveo NRS8GP 8-port Gigabit Switch with PoE.
According to Sonic Electronics, the new AV system delivers clear, intelligible sound for both speech and media, high-quality streaming and recording capabilities, centralised and responsive control for the AV systems and stable and efficient network performance powered by an PoE+ infrastructure. In turn, QDB has been transformed into a smart, professional and flexible event space, capable of handling executive briefings, trainings and hybrid events.
